Ian and Kay had such a wonderful time walking The West Highland Way through Loch Lomond, that when they got engaged they decided to plan a wedding close by to the path.
The West Highland Way walk runs from Glasgow to Fort William. In the section around Rowardennan the path follows the loch side. So they couldn't have got a better location than the grass in front of The Rowardennan SYHA Youth Hostel.
Ian and Kay organised an amazing day, providing their guests with a truly spectacular glimpse of Loch Lomond at its best. They really had a blank sheet, using the grass area on the banks of the loch. Here's how their wedding day went...
This was the welcome for Kay when she travelled by Beau Jangels boat from Balmaha to Rowardennan for the service.
The proximity to the water provided a stunning back drop for the wedding. Central Events provided two marquees, one for the ceremony and one for the reception.
As you can see there were so many happy moments to capture at Ian and Kay's wedding in Rowardennan. After the ceremony I joined the couple on a boat trip, again on Beau Jangles, to the wonderful Inchcailloch Island to get some portraits in the stunning scenery.
Returning back to Rowardennan there was a bird of prey show to entertain the guests.
Ian and Kay had organised some amazing touches and really personalised their wedding.
Here are some more photographs from Ian and Kay's weddings. The wonderful flowers are from Endrick Blooms in Killearn.
I was very happy to recommend some other suppliers and locations. What a memorable, special and fun wedding, I really enjoyed photographing it.
