Here are 10 types of must have wedding photographs. Using some of my photographs, from a range of weddings photographed in Loch Lomond, Glasgow and Edinburgh, as examples.

1. Getting Ready

I love the getting ready photographs. They’re not just hair and make-up preparations, they are pictures that represent a beautiful part of the day. This is when the emotions start to come out and there is a great level of anticipation.

It’s not just about the bride, or the groom though as they get ready separately, it’s also about the people that they have chosen to share these special moments with.

2. Detail

The dress, shoes, jewellery, rings, presents etc. can all be recorded. I like getting creative with the backgrounds, this was as you can see from an autumn wedding.

3. Ceremony

You get all kinds of emotion at the ceremony. The nervous exchanged looks, the tears of laughter and joy.
