Must-have Wedding Photographs

Here are ten types of must-have wedding photographs. I am using some of my pictures from various weddings photographed in Loch Lomond, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Getting Ready

I love getting ready photographs and capturing these special moments. As the wedding ceremony gets closer, there is increasing excitement and anticipation. I photograph the hair, the make-up, the dress and the detail, doing my best to be unobtrusive and capture candid moments.

Photographing Detail

Before the wedding, the dress, shoes, jewellery, rings, presents etc., can all be captured. I like getting creative with the backgrounds, and this was from an autumn wedding.

Wedding Ceremony Photography

Onto the ceremony and all of the emotion that bubbles over. Those nervy exchanged looks, the tears of laughter and joy.

Bridal Portraits

I love taking portraits of the bride, groom and their families. I use natural settings, light and backgrounds at each wedding venue.

Wedding Guests

The people you’ve chosen to celebrate with must also be featured. I want them to have photographs that you can they can enjoy.

Natural Moments

Everyone wants natural photographs as well as portraits, detail and group photographs. I love capturing beautiful moments like this one

A Sense of Place

I’m always looking to showcase the venue or location chosen by the couple, mainly as there are so many excellent wedding venues in Scotland.

Just the two of you

Of course, we need some beautiful photographs of the couple together, newly married, in a natural embrace. Nothing forced or artificial here!

Special Touches

Couples invest lots of time and money to feature unique elements in their wedding. I like to capture these as they help to tell the story of the day.

Happily Ever After

I love taking a photograph like this, the couple together staring into the future, hand-in-hand, excited about sharing their life. I call it the happy-ever-after shot; often, these make ideal album covers.

I hope you enjoyed this feature about ten must-have wedding photographs.
